Hard Drive Caddy/ Enclosure

The one great benefits of an external IDE or SATA Hard Drive enclosure (as they are also known), is that not only is it external, but you can take it away from the PC and use it anywhere there's a power point and another PC.
You can customise external caddies to suit your needs, whether you have an IDE/ PATA, ZIF or SATA hard drive or CD/DVD ROM or CD/DVD Writer you can find a caddy enclosure to fit the bill.

The caddy enclosures cover all sizes, 1.8", 2.5", 3.5" and 5.25" of Hard Drives & Optical drives.
If your MP3/ MP4 media player has passed into silicone heaven, and if it uses non solid state flash memory, then the hard drive might still be OK. Take the hard drive out and throw (not literally of course) it into a ZIF caddy you have an instant external storage device. Likewise with a laptop hard drive. Or you could just buy a hard drive and make yourself an external storage device. So stop using that hard drive as a pretend football, buy a caddy, give your hard drive a nice new home and let it begin storing information.

Just a quick note about 3.5" & 5.25" devices in an external caddy. Whichever device you use either ROM/ Writer or Hard Drive please make sure it's jumper setting is set to Master other wise your operating system may very well let you know it doesn't recognise the new device.
