I needed a FW800 caddy to connect to my new imac and after some searching found the icy dock caddy. Build quality is excellent and using the caddy could not be easier. Just install your SATA drive into the drive tray supplied and slide it into the caddy and you are good to go. As there is no fan, the noise levels are decided by the hard drive you choose. The best part of this caddy is its hot swap capability. You can add another drive in less than 10 seconds. You will need to purchase another drive tray for a fiver and you are ready to go. If you are buying this caddy and have more than one hdd, I would suggest buying some spare drive trays, so you can swap your drives over very quickly.
