2.5" Caddy (SATA)

These SATA (Serial ATA) Hard Drive Enclosure's will happily accommodate a SATA hard drive. Strange that I guess. But these 2.5 Caddys do actually take a 2.5" SATA Hard Drive. There are some massive benefits to these small caddies, some of which are that they are small, light and extremely portable and self powered via a USB port. Something else worthy of a mention is that the actual costs of 2.5" SATA hard drives are now lining up with the physically larger versions the 3.5" SATA hard drives in terms of both speed and price, sometimes the SATA versions are actually cheaper. SATA (Serial ATA) also offer the benefit of having faster data access speed compared to their IDE counterparts. It may only be milliseconds, but you can see a difference when running them via USB 2.0.
