ICY BOX 2.5" IB-220U-Wh USB2.0 SATA HD Caddy OK lets face facts it has the looks of a famous fruity MP3 player, but with the usual Icy Box build and ingenuity. I think there are a lot of radical changes regarding PC peripherals at the moment, i.e. making them less beige. You'll notice a startling similarity between this model and its older brother. They are the same except this takes a SATA Hard Drive instead of an IDE Hard Drive.
All you need to do is fit your 2.5” Hard Drive into the caddy, screw it securely close the caddy. Plug into USB port and format if it’s a new Hard Drive. As well as it being so small it doesn’t need any external power sources; it draws power from a USB port. It uses USB two cables one for data transfer and the other for power, if you want to plug the caddy into an external USB hub we suggest using one with it’s own power supply. An unpowered USB hub may cause power issues with the PC. You can always of course just plug it into a USB connection on your PC and it will work no problems.
