1.8" Caddy

1.8" Caddys take 1.8" inch hard drives which seems even smaller than postage stamp. Well maybe not. With their physical size being so small they can be usually found in portable media players. The tinkering little tinkers have also discovered you can take the hard drive out and put it into a caddy, so if the hard drive fails you could try rescuing the data. They are more often than not found in portable Multimedia players such as iPods and can also bee seen in the smaller laptops too. 1.8 inch IDE & ZIF (Zero Insertion Force) hard drives are now more widely available to buy on their own. They do make for a small external storage device, that’s small enough to be portable, yet big enough to cope with the demands of baking data up.
